SPEAKER...

Dr. Bateman has consulted with school professionals nationally and internationally (several hundred presentations and projects in the United States alone) as they work to develop appropriate services for students with disabilities, understand how to administer special education programs, to learn the best ways to involve parents in the process, and to prevent costly litigation.

Particular areas of interest include skills for monitoring progress, working with general education staff, communicating with parents, and learning from previous mistakes in providing services. He is the author or co-author of multiple widely used books on special education; and dozens of articles about appropriate special education services.

He was also recently on the PBS NewHour discussing special education (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPknWn3mMDo).
